The owner of this 1558cc Lotus Elan +2 tells us that is has been kept garaged throughout his tenure, which began in February 1987. In 1988 the car received a comprehensive body-off restoration which included having the engine rebuilt and the bodywork stripped and resprayed.

The vehicle was off the road between 1997 and 2002, and around 2003 the chassis was replaced with a new Spyder chassis. The engine has been modified with sprint cams and a big-valve head, and is equipped with an electric fan. The Lotus has also received modified drive shafts with CV joint and rubber donut. The interior features a Momo steering wheel, and a battery cutoff switch is fitted in the boot.

The car comes with a good collection of receipts from throughout the present owner's tenure. Paperwork includes the current V5C in the vendor's name, MoT certificates from between 1986 and 2017, and technical information regarding the engine build. Club publications are also included.

This Lotus was first registered on 5th July 1968, and today the odometer is showing 88,629 miles. Its last MoT certificate expired in 2017, although being a historic vehicle, it is now exempt from requiring one.
